Where we teach

Three chapters. One mission.

From Kyiv to Damascus to Kabul, Teachers for Peace runs local chapters in three countries shaped by war, each one a classroom where learning continues against the odds.

Where it began

One online English class for children sheltering from war grew into a full programme of languages, maths, exam prep and kids' clubs, and the global movement that followed.

Syria

Learning through displacement

For Syrian families scattered by years of conflict, our Arabic-speaking chapter keeps education within reach, with free classes that travel wherever students have landed.

Classrooms for girls

Where girls are barred from school, our Dari-speaking volunteers bring lessons to them online, so an education denied in person is never denied entirely.

Our story

From one classroom to a global movement.

In 2022, as war reached Ukraine, a single online class gave displaced children somewhere to keep learning. That class became a community, and the community became Teachers for Peace.

Today our volunteers teach across Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan, reaching students in more than twenty countries with free, trauma-informed education.

"Education is the path to peace and to a better future."

And we're still growing, with new chapters opening as more educators step forward to teach.
